Running to OUR start line.

The rush for sorting out the details of my upcoming wedding had been sudden and powerfull. Although the demands also increased for media updates, interviews and appearances; their weren't as many as I thought their would be. Perhaps the Blue planet Run team was allowing me the time to focus on my wedding and for this I thank them but I sure hope it didn't mean that some media opportunities were lost. Perhaps the opposite happened as Taeko and my wedding was an amazing journey that did garner much attention.

The day started out with Taeko being brought onto my team the night before so that some details could be worked out like her finding a dress. She did find one and she was so happy. We also gathered other outfits to wear while we were running the 9 miles to the exchange point where our wedding would be the next day. These outfits will have proven to be very funny and have everyone smiling and laughing as we made our way into Niagara Falls to get married. Our arrival in Niagara Falls just prior to Taeko and my wedding run in the morning after I had ran the 10 miles with the Green team, was filled with sorting out details such as signing to have the wedding in the park, getting a marriage license from City Hall, preparing music for wedding ceremony and writing vows. On this day by the time the wedding was done, 6 interviews had been done as well for the Blue Planet Run.

Our wedding was held just below the mini CN tower in Victoria Park just opposite the Falls between the two major powerfull displays of the power of water. The day was hot and the slight falling of mist that made it's way to us was very appreciated and felt great. Taeko and I ran together holding each other's hands and waving to everyone. At one point Taeko said to me that we couldn't of picked a better place. I fully agree. On arrival at the park we changed and then had our brief ceremony in which we made a tribute to the falls and water, said our vow and exchanged rings. Tears fell from my cheeks as Taeko emerged just prior to the aisle in her beautiful dress.

We are now spending the day after together because of the generosity of our team mates in covering our miles for the day which has us very thankfull. A very loud shout of appreciation is also needed to be shared with Dill, Erin and Patricia from Ignition for supporting our wedding and taking on the extra tasks while already engaged in so many other areas of responsability. I also want to thank my friend Bruce in Winnipeg who came to my rescue and helped get a form out to me from where I used to live.

Poem of the Day:

We ran together to our start line
of our race for our destinies to be fulfilled
and our joys to be realized.
Our run together continues now
and always will
with us hand in hand
with each other's spirit partners!
