Sierra Leone - Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting Tank for 2 Communities

The villages of Masampa and Ferry Bonda Sirma lack any safe water source, save a dysfunctional well. Safer Future will build a large rainwater harvesting tank with a connected hand pump in-between the two villages, and a roof will be built above the platform to provide the communities with a central, covered place for meetings. Village committees will be responsible for assisting in the construction and sustenance of the system. There will also be trainings in hygiene education, pump repairs and maintenance and the chlorination of water.
