As we wind up our time in Germany, we are literally winding up the German countryside. The last leg of what has been noted by all runners as a beautiful country saw Team Green passing the baton to Team Orange in the winding roads of Altenberg.
Just before the hand-off, Team Green pulled into a community sporting area only to find that today was the last day of a four-day competitive sporting event. With the help of German-speakers Dot and Brynn, the crowd welcomed the runners with open arms into the center of the event, where Jason Loutitt ran in, took a victory lap and handed off the baton to Sunila Jayaraj. Brynn took center stage to explain the 2007 Blue Planet Run and the importance of the cause, and encouraged all to log on to the Web site to learn more. As Sunila ran out, the crowd came to their feet and thanked all the runners for the great work they are doing for humanity.
