In Kansas running in the 99 degree heat, I ended up getting attacked by two dogs but was able to yell at them enough to keep them at bay until our exchange point vehicle came by. I am so glad that it was me on the road instead of another runner. I am sure someone else would of been bitten. Then with a little mix up in guiding me to the final exchange point, I ended up running an extra 5 miles finally getting turned around at a military base where there was no way I was headed in the right direction. All said, it was still fun and perhaps I was able to wave at someone who otherwise I wouldn't of been able to.

Even though the Blue Planet Run will be unable to put Taeko and I on the same team, we are still filled with excitement as we have started planning for our wedding August 28th in Niagara Falls! Between here in Kansas and Canada we will see each other for a few minutes each day at the exchange point between our Team Green and Team Blue. Although it made Taeko and I very sad that all the other runners refused to change teams due to not wanting any dynamics to change meaning we wouldn't be able to be on the same team, we are here to do our job and even though Taeko will have to go back to Japan for 2.5 months after the run we will make the best of it. Having us on different teams is more valuable for the BPR as we are both greeting, waving and smiling at each and every car we pass.

Our plan for our wedding August 28th in a poem:

In starting our run together stating our intentions
carrying each other's rings,
we soar.
Into the mist by the falls ceremoniously drinking water
from each other and putting the rings
into a bowl of water.
With collected drops from the mist
uniting us we unite.
Running to the finish and the start of our destiny
finally joining together us as
spirit partners who have always
been together!

September 27, 2007... and still on the run!

When I think about all the great times and places that I visited this past summer, I am also reminded of all the great people.
