The Blue Planet Run team isn’t quite out of the Mongolian desert — or out of the way of slight health issues, either! But neither dry desert air nor stomach problems can deter the Blue Planet Run team from spreading their message. And although the desert sand proves to make running an excellent workout for their calves, the runners look forward to getting back onto some asphalt.

In one of the most interactive and exciting moments the team has had for many miles, a group of 10 environmental scientists showed up at an exchange point about 30 miles outside the Chinese border. These scientists had heard about the Run and decided to come out to support the team and learn more about the Blue Planet Run! Team Silver spoke with the scientists a bit and gave them stickers to take home to their families, then kept on their way.

A little later in Team Silver’s shift, Emmanuel Kibet and Shiri Leventhal decided to stop and talk to a family who inhabited a small hut on the side of the road. The family owned a camel and let Emmanuel and Shiri take a short ride. What a thrill for both of them! The photos of this small adventure are coming shortly.

The Blue Planet Run team crossed into China at 3 a.m. local time, bringing them closer to the major city (and exciting exchange point) of Beijing.
