Another great start for the Run in Park, Kansas: the first exchange point was held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church's parking lot, rousing the curiosity of the priest and some churchgoers to come over and see exactly what was going on. One little girl got all the runners who were present to sign her shirt!

Scenery has changed from mountain to farmland: the runners report passing large silos, barns, farmhouses, sheds, windmills, corn fields, etc. The sunflower fields have been amazing; the small green biting flies have not.
Arriving in Ellis, KS the Run got some attention from the local newspaper, the Ellis Review and information regarding Blue Planet Run will appear in the paper next week, August 22. Also in Ellis, they passed Walter P. Chrysler’s boyhood home. Taeko continued the Run through Wilson, Kansas, which is considered the “Czech capital of Kansas.”

Simon enjoys the grassland, accompanied by two local riders.
