Why a world relay on foot? Why trail relays around the clock? The Blue Planet Run Foundation has followed the time tested model of linking long distance events with a cause. An around-the-world run was our vision since we began our mission towards global sustainability, focussed on the issue of safe drinking water. The idea was to create an event that would capture the excitement of people from all walks of life worldwide. The epic nature of the event has appeal to both participants and the audience. The combination of the primal, archetypal elements of water, one of the most basic essentials of life, with running, the fundamental mode of transportation and communication, strikes a physiological chord. Furthermore, the human characteristics of stamina, commitment and passion which are showcased through our running events are absolutely essential for achieving success with the water projects that we fund. With determination and will power, our athletes and participants succeed on the trail. With determination and will power, the global community can succeed in providing safe drinking water to everyone.

Blue Planet Run international runs have the potential to reach an enormous global audience through one event. This extraordinary feat of endurance showcases astounding human spirit and the will power of amazing people from all over the world.
